Last Sunday I went to help a little girl from my ward prepare her talk for primary (her mom doesn't speak much english, but she volunteered to do one...cute huh!) We finished working on her talk and I was driving home to get some lunch before church. When all of a sudden, I see those sickening blue lights in my rear view mirror. I knew I wasn't speeding and couldn't figure our why he was pulling me over. He comes to my window and asks me if I knewmy registration was expired. I told him I had the stickers at my house I just forgot to put them on my car. Then he points at my front window and said, "oh, and your vehicle inspection is expired" My response, "oh that's what that is for." I had noticed the sticker in my front windshield had been expired, but I can honestly say I had NO idea what it was for. So he goes back to his car to check on my registration. He came back and handed my a ticket. I was shocked, I really thought I was just going to get a warning and have the chance to get the stickers put on and get the inspection. But here's the BEST part. He hands me the ticket and then says, "have a blessed day!" SERIOUSLY?!?! I was having a blessed day until you came along, thanks a lot.

Ugh! I hate those lights. I always get a sickened feeling in my stomach when I see them, even if they aren't for me. And our registration and inspection were due in July! But way to be sweet and help with the talk. Heavenly Father sees it, even if the cop doesn't!
Gotta love those Southerners. SO polite even when handing out reprimands. Sorry to hear Heath. Miss you guys still. :)
Hey this same thing happened to me in VA...except the good part about helping with the talk. If you go go to court and wait your turn and have your proof you got it done...they let you off. Not fun but at least it doesn't cost anything else...good luck!
i got 3 tickets on my car before i figured out what they were for - expired registration. i didn't even know you had to renew it. i'm retarded.
i got a ticket for having an expired inspection sticker as well ... and guess what ... i was 9months pregnant!!! i thought for sure he'd let me off. he gave me the ticket and then said "good luck with the baby!" .... ? i totally get your story!
