Groundhog's Day

When I was a little girl I remember feeling that Groundhog's Day was one of the most important days of the year. I truly believed that what the groundhog saw would determine the weather. I remember coming home on Groundhog Day in 3rd grade and being upset that there was 6 more weeks of winter and I really just wanted to wear shorts. My mom tried to console me and explain that even if the groundhog hadn't seen his shadow it wouldn't be warm enough to wear shorts for a long time. I think that was even more depressing. Hopefully the groundhog was right this year.

Each person in the group

was assigned to write down one thing that the bride-to-be had to do before the end of the evening. I said that she had to sing Old McDonald Had a Farm and another person said she had to square dance with the groom-to-be. We all submitted our assignments and then were informed that instead of Brooke completing the task you submitted you would have to complete your own task.
Well this is where is gets juicy. My lovely husband had assigned Brooke to the fate of "kissing the captain of the boat on the cheek." According to the rules of the game this meant that Rich would need to kiss the captain. A few of us ventured to the front of the boat to watch and I giggled like a school girl as Richard explained his predicament to the captain then meekly asked if he could kiss him. He offered a homemade lollipop as form of payment for this favor and the captain response? "Will it be quick??"
It was quick, but Brooke's camera skills were just as quick and this moment was caught on film and posted on facebook.
